When Worldviews Collide
Don Clary (Room: B201)
Course length: 7 weeks
When Worldviews Collide is a small-group study written by
Ergun Mehmet Caner, a former Muslim, designed to develop a Christian's theology
and doctrine for the purpose of building confidence in personal evangelism and
engaging their culture with absolute biblical truth. In addition, it helps
adults identify ways false teachings make an impact on our society and to take
actions that promote a biblical worldview. Other faiths covered include Muslim,
Jewish, Hindu, and Buddhist.
Teaching Bible Study to
Adults
Knox Bennett &
Lewis Crawford (Room: D207)
Course length: 4 weeks
This 4 week course is the perfect choice for individuals
who are interested in serving as Sunday School Teachers, or assistants, for
adults. Come learn how to present biblical studies, reference scripture and
engage adults in discussion. If you are currently teaching Sunday School and
would like to improve your skills as a teacher, this course will offer you some
new ideas and techniques to insure you and your class get the most out of every
lesson.
Public Reading of the
Scriptures
Dave
Stanford (Room: B207)
Course length: 6 weeks
This course is for anyone wanting to read the Bible more
effectively, whether in worship, Sunday School, or to your own children or
grandchildren. 1 Timothy 4:13 says, “Devote yourself to the public reading of
Scripture.” (ESV)
Have a New Kid by Friday
Keith & Pam Whitley (Room: D206)
Course length: 6 Weeks
beginning March 13
Parents teach their children their ABCs before they enter
school; now it's time to teach them the ABCs of life (Attitude, Behavior, and
Character). "How?", you ask. Stand up to the plate and take charge. In Have a
New Kid by Friday, Dr. Kevin Leman urges you to take his 5-day challenge to
implement a new parenting strategy. Based on cause and effect instead of threats
or fears, you'll soon be seeing lots of improvement in your child's behavior and
experience a closer bond as well. Let the fun begin!
Prayer Walking for Children
Debra Wood (Room: D101)
Course length: 6 weeks
This course is designed to teach children about the concept
of prayer walking and prayer evangelism. The class will plan a targeted
intercessory prayer site each week and conduct a prayer walk in that area.
Children will need to wear comfortable clothes suitable to the weather outside
and comfortable sturdy walking shoes (no flip-flops). Written permission to
travel in Debra Wood’s vehicle to the prayer walk site is required for each
child. We will return to the church for a snack prior to the end of discipleship
training each week.
(All room
assignments are tentative)
